Catherine was 7 years old when she joined TAFI—withdrawn, anxious, and almost completely non-verbal. Her mother had tried everything she could, moving from clinic to clinic, therapist to therapist, but nothing seemed to reach Catherine.

“She never looked us in the eye,” her mother recalls. “It was like she was trapped inside herself.”

But everything began to change the day Catherine was introduced to art therapy.

On her first day, she picked up a crayon and quietly began to draw a bright blue sun. No one expected what came next: for the first time, Catherine smiled.

That one small moment was the beginning of a breakthrough.

Over the next few weeks, Catherine’s drawings became her voice. She began communicating her emotions through shapes and colors—fear in heavy blacks, joy in bursts of yellow and red. Her teachers started to understand her better. And slowly, she started to engage with other children in class, pointing, nodding, and even laughing.

Art gave Catherine more than just a creative outlet. It gave her confidence. It gave her a voice.

But this transformation didn’t happen by accident. It happened because someone—like you—chose to give.

Your donation of Ksh 2,500 can sponsor a full art therapy kit for one child like Catherine, including paints, brushes, sketchpads, and sensory tools.
A donation of Ksh 10,000 supports a month’s worth of art therapy sessions for a small group of students, with a qualified therapist trained to work with children on the autism spectrum.

Give Catherine’s classmates the same chance to be heard.
Let them paint their emotions, sketch their dreams, and color their fears into something beautiful.

Every stroke of the brush brings a child closer to their breakthrough.
