At The Autism Foundation International (T.A.F.I), we believe education is a powerful tool for transforming lives, breaking down stigma, and empowering children with autism in Kenya to reach their fullest potential. Our education initiatives focus on helping autistic children and their caregivers overcome challenges related to ignorance, poverty, social injustice, and limited opportunities. We aim to build an inclusive society that values every child’s right to learn, grow, and thrive.

Through our various education support programs, T.A.F.I promotes equal access to opportunities for children and youth with autism. We facilitate scholarships, bursaries, and links to sponsors for autistic children in Kenya who would otherwise struggle to access quality education. These programs help bridge the educational gap while inspiring hope and resilience among families facing social and economic hardships.

As part of our commitment to autism support and autism awareness fundraising, we also promote educational opportunities among vulnerable youth, particularly girls in primary and secondary schools. Empowering girls with education not only improves their prospects but also strengthens families and communities in the long term. Our dedicated programs ensure girls with autism are given equal opportunities to learn and succeed, countering gender discrimination and harmful cultural norms.

T.A.F.I champions life skills training tailored to adolescents and youth with autism to help them gain independence and confidence. Our team uses proven autism therapy techniques and specialized learning models to address the needs of children and teenagers with autism spectrum disorders. We guide them through essential skills such as problem-solving, self-care, communication, and relationship-building. These tools are crucial in helping autistic youth transition smoothly into adulthood with dignity and autonomy.

Our life skills programs are delivered through several well-structured approaches, including Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education, counseling sessions, mentorship workshops, and career forums. These resources empower young people with autism and their caregivers to make informed choices about their health, careers, and personal lives. Additionally, T.A.F.I supports the integration of sports, creative arts, and debates in both primary and secondary schools. Such activities not only improve physical and cognitive abilities but also promote teamwork, self-esteem, and social inclusion for autistic children in Kenya.

In line with our autism advocacy mission, our school-based programs also serve as important platforms for creating autism awareness and promoting behavioral change. T.A.F.I organizes regular HIV/AIDS prevention education in schools to encourage responsible health practices, with a special focus on boys and girls who might otherwise be overlooked. Through these forums, we fight misinformation and harmful stereotypes, encouraging inclusive and supportive attitudes toward children with autism and other disabilities.
